The people of Lebanon have suddenly been thrust into a crisis through no fault of their own. Israeli attacks on the south of the country have left more than 700 dead – of which 50 are children, around 2,000 wounded and more than 500,000 who have fled their communities to seek relative safety where they can find it.
This is the most ferocious onslaught Lebanon has experienced since its civil war of 1975-1990.
In a country already suffering economic turmoil and lacking in disaster response resources, we are asking you to join with us in helping our brothers and sisters who find themselves in this desperate situation.
Our partners in Lebanon are on the ground and ready to respond to the immediate emergency. With your help, we can provide vital supplies to communities that have been displaced.
Our partners have been assessing the situation on the ground in the most affected areas. Your donation will provide for displaced families:
Our partners are on the ground in South Beirut, Sayda, Surt and West Beqaa Valley. As part of their situation assessment, they have sent these images of the devastation caused by the recent attacks. As you can see, the bombing has been indiscriminate, sparing no one. Houses destroyed, communities shattered, families forced to flee to wherever they can find temporary safety.
Let us act now and show our support and solidarity with our Lebanese brothers and sisters.
