Food security

A nutritious, tasty meal is something we all take for granted and look forward to. For many living in dangerous and uncertain situations, that’s not the case. A regular and reliable food source can be a distant luxury, decimating communities as families struggle to survive. 

With approximately 838 million people globally going hungry - including 14 million children suffering from severe acute malnutrition (*Action Against Hunger 2023) - the task of feeding those who cannot feed themselves grows larger day by day.

From just £75 you can feed a family for up to a month with a Food Pack. That's just £2.33 per day- less than a cup of coffee - to ensure a family does not go hungry.

Human Relief Foundation is able to, working with local partners, provide food packs and hot meals to refugees, the displaced, and disadvantaged families and individuals across all the counties we work in.

We've worked in collaboration with the World Food Programme to provide meals for students in Iraq. We continue our efforts in Jordan and Lebanon helping Syrian refugees, the displaced Rohingya in Bangladesh, deprived communities in Pakistan and the Tamale region of Ghana.

This Ramadan, Iftar 4 All is ensuring that the blessings of breaking fast are shared with those who need them most. Across Pakistan, Lebanon and Iraq, countless families and refugees face poverty, displacement and hardship, unsure where their next meal will come from.

As Muslims, we are reminded that fasting is not only about hunger and patience, but about compassion, solidarity and care for our Ummah. It is our duty to ensure that the most impoverished are able to break their fast with dignity, alongside the rest of us.

The Prophet ﷺ taught that whoever provides Iftar to a fasting person will receive a reward equal to theirs, without diminishing their reward in the slightest.
