EVENT RULES & GUIDELINES APPLICABLE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS
The following event rules and guidelines are intended to help ensure the safety of all participants, and meet requirements of the hosting organisation.
Each entrant must fill in the entry form to enter an event and must ensure the details are correct. All entry fields must be filled out. Any correspondence will be via email, or phone (if needed). Event organisers retain the right to refuse entry to anyone declaring false information on their form, not making the required payment, or wearing footwear/clothing on the run which can be deemed as unsafe and inadequate. In any and all circumstances event organisers retain the right to refuse entry to any person.
By taking part, all runners confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during their participation in The Great Zombie Run to be used by Human Relief Foundation and organisers of the event.
All entry fees are non-refundable, and can not be deferred towards a future event. Entries are non-transferable. Registration closure is determined and announced when event participation reaches the established capacity or a pre-set date.
Participants must follow instructions as given from all event officials including race staff, medical personnel, security officers and city officials throughout the duration of the event.
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner during their participation in the event. For example, littering in the park or being rude and obscene to race staff and other runners will not be allowed. Anyone violating this rule of conduct shall be disqualified from the event and will not be allowed to participate.
All participants must write their name and details of any health problems or medication on the signup form.
All participants must acknowledge and agree that personal information can be stored and used by Human Relief Foundation in connection with the organisation, and administration of the event, and for the compilation of statistical information.
Any participant who refuses to obey the directions of the event official, city official or course marshal, or who conducts himself/herself in an unsportsmanlike manner, or who is offensive by action or language to officials, volunteers, participants or spectators can be disqualified by the event at the discretion of race officials.
Any participant who has been found by a course marshal, event official to have gained an unfair advantage by intentionally shortening the route of the run shall be immediately disqualified from the event and banned from future participation in The Great Zombie Run at the discretion of race officials.
Any person who runs in the event without having signed up, reported to the registration desk at the beginning of the run, and running without a high vis vest, is subject to removal from the course.
Participants are reminded that the course may have diverse challenges along the route and due to the possibility of inclement weather, suitable clothing and footwear should be worn. No responsibility can be assumed by the organisers for failing to dress accordingly.
Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage, symbols and colour relating to participant maps, facilities and direction.
Medical personnel authorised by the event to do so may examine any participant who appears in distress. If in the sole opinion of authorised medical personnel it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare, medical personnel can remove the participant from the event. Participants must retire at once from the run if ordered to do so by a member of the event’s official staff, official medical staff, or any governmental authority, including fire and police officers. Participants are responsible and assume liability for any and all medical expenses incurred as a result of training for and/or participation in the event, including but not limited to ambulance transport, hospital stays, physician and pharmaceutical goods and services.
Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel, alter the route or suspend the event due to severe weather. No refund will be issued in these circumstances.
Whilst a water station will be located on the route, it is recommended that runners bring extra water.
AMENDMENTS / RESERVATIONS / ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Event officials reserve the right, to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules.
Participants shall be bound by any modification or supplement of the event rules published prior to the event. Failure to follow these event rules, as can be amended, will result in disqualification.
By signing up, and paying for their entry fee for The Great Zombie Run, runners agree to the following disclaimer:
“In completing this entry I declare that I, or anyone that I am paying for, will not compete in the run unless medically fit to do so and that, in any event, I/we will compete at my/our own risk. I/we understand that entry fees are non-refundable.
