In the current day and age, we tend to base our lives and existence on planning for the future - namely our own future, along with those of our children and dependants.
While there are also many of us that live for the day and for the moment that we are in, this isn’t always a very savvy way to approach the revelations that life may have to offer.
For example, the term “saving up for a rainy day” signals that you are saving for the future, should any complications arise where financial measures may be needed. This savings pot is also often used to fund holidays and expensive excursions as treats for all of our hard work.
Education is also a means of planning for the future; we educate ourselves and our offspring to be able to succeed out there in the world, both financially and emotionally.
Security in the Future
In Islam, we are given the guidance to invest in our Hereafter, as that is our real future and our main aim and goal in this material world.
We save for things we may want or need, such as a bigger home, a car, a wedding. We plan our future according to the dreams and goals we have for our lives – the career we want, when we would like to get married, how many children we would like to have, what countries we would like to visit on holiday, things we would like to accomplish before we answer to our Lord – be it materialistic or devout.
Everyone has an aim, a focus, a goal in life and the same goes for many other people that we don’t come across on a daily basis, in our day-to-day lives. However, these people don’t always have the means to be able to plan ahead.
What do you do when you have no means to plan for a future? Nobody really knows what tomorrow holds, so how we can you plan for tomorrow when today is so unstable?
Today, society plays an important part in shaping our future, the voracity to be more advanced than we currently are; if a man can invent all the current technology in the world, then what more do we have to offer? How much more can we revolutionise the world in which we live in?
On the other hand, why do we find ourselves planning so much when there are no guarantees in this life, which can be taken from us without a moments notice?
Security in Life
We all strive to secure our existence here on Earth, in order to protect ourselves and our loved one’s whilst we are in existence. This enables us to nurture, clothe and feed ourselves, to get by comfortably while we are here.
But what about those that don’t have this security?
This brings us to Human Relief Foundation’s Support 4 Life campaign, which aims to provide families who are currently less fortunate than ourselves with the relevant skills and opportunities to enable them to sustain and plan their own future. A way to help educate them, pick up skills and generate a future income for their families – this is a long-term investment in their everyday lives.
Some of the ways this can be done is through organic farming, providing the skills and materials to excel within the textile industry, and so much more besides. This allows families to be able to generate a reliable income in order to provide for themselves and be able to cultivate their own future.
Your donation, from as little as £10, can help many in developing countries also plan their future and security
Let’s not forget, the children of today are the intelligence of tomorrow. Donate now and join the fight against extreme poverty with HRF today.
